Fringe Events
Introduction
A rapid development of the film industry always sparks new conversations among filmmakers. Film festivals become a big opportunity to start these conversations through an interesting and inspirational discussion. Together with UCIFEST 14’s journey through its fringe events will be presenting various speakers and providing space for filmmakers to get to know each other, talk, and widen their networks.

Road to UCIFEST 14 Institut Français Indonesia

Road to UCIFEST 14 is a pre-event of UCIFEST 14 that will present Best of UCIFEST 13 screening and selected french animation from IF Cinema collection which is very exciting and inspirative. It will be followed by dicussion about UCIFEST 14’s series of events which will be held on May 9th - 12th, 2023. Road to UCIFEST 14 is expected to be an inspirational and motivational source for high school and university students to keep creating in film and animation industry.

Meeting Lounge

Meeting Lounge is available during the festival for the audience to visit after their journey with UCIFEST 14. Here they can gather and discuss outside the main events of UCIFEST 14. This will be their place to rest and get knowledge with other audiences all at once. The Meeting Lounge is equipped with a sitting area, board games, and ‘write your postcards’ wall as a forum for aspirations from the audiences about UCIFEST 14.

Poster Exhibition

Poster Exhibition for the competition program will make the main event area of UCIFEST 14 more exciting. The visitors can take a look again at the films that they will watch during this year’s UCIFEST. Visitors can also choose their favorite films through a link that will be provided in this exhibition.

Book Discussion "Biang Kerok Kenikmatan"

A program that focuses on a book releasing by Umi Lestari entitled ‘Biang Kerok Kenikmatan’, where the aim of this program is to provide an opportunity for various parties to find out why the book was made, who the book is intended for, and what can be obtained through the book.

Editor Collaboration in Film Production

The filmmaking process doesn’t end at the shooting stage. There is still post-production which is the last chance for a production team to perfect their masterpiece. In fact, it is the editors who will be their “saviors” in post-production, but it doesn’t rule out any possibility of working with directors who can save them. This discussion will talk about tips on building collaboration between editors and directors in the post-production stage.
